Description
Originally launched in 2009 and awarded Fragrance of the Year and Men's Prestige by the Fragrance Foundation in 2010, Grey Vetiver now arrives in EDP concentration with deepened richness. Harry Fremont's treatment of vetiver here is decidedly unusual: not green and aromatic, not swampy, but silvery — as if the vetiver root has been dusted with winter frost.
Grapefruit, orange blossom and sage in the opening are clean, fractionally floral and citrus-bright. The heart of nutmeg, orris root and pimento introduces measured warmth and a dry, almost grey spice character. This middle phase is where the fragrance earns its name and its reputation.
Vetiver, oakmoss and amber in the base form a polished, classy masculine conclusion — refined without being cold, complex without being difficult. Performance runs six to eight hours with moderate, tasteful projection.
For wholesale perfume buyers, Tom Ford is among the most aspirational names in prestige fragrance. Grey Vetiver EDP is an office-ready signature scent that generates repeat purchases through its distinctiveness.
