Description
Illusione was conceived as a scent portrait of Bottega Veneta's design philosophy: restraint, quality, and an almost architectural relationship with materials. Perfumers Annick Menardo and Amandine Clerc-Marie worked with ingredients that evoke the Italian countryside — specifically the olive groves, fig trees, and citrus orchards of Tuscany and the Veneto.
Bergamot and black pepper open with a bright, assertive clarity. Orange blossom bridges the top to the heart, where fig leaf — milky, slightly green, with the sweetness of fresh figs — dominates. Fig as a perfumery ingredient requires precision; here it is handled masterfully.
Olive wood adds an earthy, slightly bitter Mediterranean character to the base, a uniquely Italian material choice. Tonka bean and warm amber smooth and warm the composition into a lasting drydown. Longevity is seven to nine hours. For wholesale perfume buyers seeking quiet-luxury alternatives, Illusione provides genuine distinction.
