Description
In OUD Silk Mood, Francis Kurkdjian does something rare: he takes oud — one of the most prized and challenging of all perfumery materials — and renders it weightless. Released in 2018 as part of the house's dedicated OUD collection, this EDP reframes the traditional oud narrative for a wholesale perfume audience drawn from both East and West.
Bulgarian rose and chamomile open the composition with a fresh, almost medicinal florality — not sweet or cloying but genuinely bright. Bergamot adds citrus clarity that keeps the composition from ever becoming heavy. This opening is perhaps the most unexpected element of a fragrance named after oud.
Guaiac wood and hedione — a molecule associated with the clean, diffuse quality of jasmine — create a heart that hovers between floral and woody, transparent and atmospheric. Then the oud arrives in the base: clean, smooth, almost papyrus-dry. This is oud stripped of its darkness and animal intensity, presented instead in its most refined and approachable form.
Available at Beyazit Parfüm as a 70ml EDP tester. Full bottle without box. A wholesale perfume tester that bridges demographics and cultural backgrounds with equal ease.
